~ Transient Piece of Life ~

“Y-yes?”

“Are you alright,Archia?”

“Yes, I am. Then, how about that lampion? Isn’t that cute?” I said pointing a fish-shaped lampion. I know that lampion isn’t that cute. “umm…not at all” Luka said innocently. She very liked cute things and especially with pink colour.

                We decided to went home since it had been 9 o’clock. We walked through an alley when suddenly a mysterious man came toward us. I, as the older one, tried to keep Luka save. “What do you want?” I asked trying to be brave.  “Not many. Give me that!” the man said pointing at my bag.  Actually that bag was empty. My phone was in my right pocket and my money was in my left pocket. I just liked to bringing bag around even though that was no use. I gave that bag to the man and as fast as I can, I grabbed Luka’s hand and ran. Realizing that the bag was empty, he ran after us. Tried to chase us, but then my vision started to blurred and I felt like I was falling down to a hole. The one thing I know, I was still holding Luka’s hand. “ugh,” my back landed on a hard brick. My vision had been normal now. It was dark. Very dark. I turn my phone on and I found Luka in my hug, she closed her eyes, seemed scared. “Luka? Are you alright?” I asked. “I-I’m fine. It’s dark,” she said stutter. “It’ll be fine. I’m with you”. I decided to walked toward a corridor inside that hole while trying to call my parents. “What place is this?” I mumbled. “Archia.” Luca suddenly stopped. “What?” Luca kept silent and pointing at the dark side of the corridor. I saw a dark shadow moving. “Who are you?” I shouted and that shadow stopped.

“I’m just a man”

“Who are you? I’m serious!”

He ignored us, then walked away. I thought he wanted us to follow him. That man was tall enough for me and his eyes was hindered with his hairs. After some minutes walking, we could get out from that mysterious hole to an old-looking manor. The man opened the manor door and seemed to welcome us. “Well, go in. I’ll prepare some food” he said. I nodded and went in with a big curiousity. I was feel familiar with that place, but I couldn’t remember clearly about the place. “Wait, I’ll show your room. Yes, you two.” He said then walked beforeus to the upstsair. We got to a big door beside a corridor. “Here is your room. I’ve clean it,” the man said. We went in and looked over the room, all the corner. “now, I will go prepare some food. Please wait here” he told us then left. I turned my attention to Luka. “Luka, are you alright?” I asked.

“E-em. I hope it’s okay if we stay here.”

“Yes. He seem a friendly man too”

“Yeah. At last we can get some food and…”

‘knock…knock…’ The man came back with some foods in his hand. “Here. Eat this. I hope you don’t dislike cake,” he said and smirking. He moved some hairs that hindered his eyes. I could see his face now.  He started talking.

“Anyway, I haven’t tell you my name. I’m Rein.”

“I’m Archia and this is…”

“I’m Luka!”

                Luka was always like that. When she thought that someone was good, she could become very friendly but when she thought someone was bad, she could be very mean. “Well, do you live here?” Suddenly Luka asked.

“Sometimes.”

“Sometimes? You mean?”

“I mean sometimes I used to live here, but the most of time, I explore the town and sleep in the alley.”

That answer really made me curious about him, beside, I still felt that this place was familiar. “Well, the moon has rised so high, you better have rest now. Good night,” he said then leaving us. “Archia… I’m sleepy, so good night,” Luka said in a nice smile, that smile really made me believe that she really alright.  I closed my eyes and the darkness fell into me.

‘I keep walking. I don’t know where to go either. Through this darkness, I can’t see anything but fear. I want to get out from here. I know I want. But sometimes, the darkness is better than the light.’ That word kept fill the air in my ears. I kept walking, yes I did. Then I realize my sister, Violencia was brought to the old residence. “Sister!!” I shouted. “Archia! Don’t! Go away! I’ll be alright!” she answered me. “No! Sister! Sister…” I opened my eyes and found Luka slept in her dream. “I’m glad that was only a dream,” I mumbled. “Well, indeed,” suddenly, Rein came from a corner.

“What are you doning here, Rein?”

“Well, I can’t sleep”

“Are you a stalker or what? So, why don’t you explore the town?”

“hahaha…I think it’s not polite to leave guests alone at night. Don’t worry, I won’t do anything. Just go back to sleep, I’ll be hanging aroud the mansion.”

He said closing the door. I got back to sleep and once more, I heard a voice “I keep walking. I don’t know where to go either. Through this darkness, I can’t see anything but fear. I want to get out from here. I know I want. But sometimes, the darkness is better than the light.” After I couldn’t see my sister, I went to an old hotel.  At last I thought that was a hotel. “Sister?” I called. “Sister, are you here?” no one answered. I kept walking to a room and that was a bed room, same as the bed room where I slept now. “Sister?” I called. Still, no one answered. I don’t know how, but there was something inside forcing me to open a locker inside the room. I found a doll, a rabbit doll. I took that out and when I hugged it, I was awake. It was dawn. Quickly, I got up from my bed and open the locker and yes, I found a rabbit doll. “What? How?”
